We started off the weekend with James' 2nd soccer match. The team was really excited as they won the game this week. James hasn't been involved in a sports team before so it has been a great learning experience for him and it's lovely to see him doing an outdoor activity that he enjoys.
Sunday we woke to James not feeling so well, his head was hurting and he eventually vomitted. A couple of hours rest on the couch with his pillow and favourite quilt and he started to feel better by lunchtime. Bella and I did some craft. Since stitching her little bunny at Easter she has taken quite an interest in sewing and has been continually thinking up new ideas to stitch. Some of them are quite elaborate and so not happening - like a giant stitched television with real knobs and a hand stitched t.v. screen... but we compromised and settled on a little felt love heart. She stitched 3 and has plans for more, that's my girl :O)
Here is one of her hearts which now hangs above our bunny in the hallway. She gave the other two away, one to her best friend Claire and then other to her teacher. I stitched the ribbon and the button into postion for her.
After the hearts she discovered my new serviette pack. I bought the pack to try Kate's mod podging napkin technique (click the link to see the technique, it should take you right there...hopefully). I've given it a whirl, so easy peasy and fun - ofcourse I desperately want more packs of beautiful serviettes now! Anyhow, apparently serviettes are perfect for craft (according to Bella who now wants her own pack of pretty serviettes for Christmas). So, she made these little treasures - a bag, which also now hangs up in the hallway. It holds a serviette flower that is still in the making and a spare serviette - just incase, lol.
Then, a boat which has about a roll of sticky tape on the bottom section of it (waterproofing apparently).
Then, last but not least - a pillow for baby. Now, I'm really not sure what she has put inside to stuff the pillow - goodness only knows, but I don't have the heart to cut it open and when I asked her she wasn't really forthcoming, lol. So I guess I'll have to wait until it wears out.
After all the craft I snuggled up on the couch to watch some t.v., that was until Bella came out to tell me that something had *accidentally* gone into her ear and when she put her finger in to feel what it was...oops it went up further. So after a bit of an examination of the hot pink object, we decided to head to the after hours doctor so that he could remove it, which he did quite easily :O)
