Yesterday I cancelled my Studio Calico Project Life subscription, not because I wasn't enjoying the nice products that have been landing in my mail box every month, but I thought about the maths involved in a year long subscription ($29 p/month x 12 months = $348) and decided that I'd rather pop that money towards a holiday or just keep it in our savings account.
Happy Friday crafters!
Today I'm sharing a super quick outdoor craft idea with you - making your own Tic-Tac-Toe set. This is a 10 minute craft project & great for the little people to create themselves, perfect for camping and the stones can be used inside on a rainy day too - just draw up a grid on a piece of paper.
Recently we've been downsizing our book collection at home and I've also made a commitment to start utilising our local library, instead of buying all the books that catch my eye.
We began the downsize by sorting through James and Bella's books, letting them both decide which ones to keep or part with. Mostly they parted with the ones they've outgrown, just keeping the special stories that have been read and re-read over the years. Then we culled all magazines that were building up in big piles and began sorting through craft, sewing, cookbooks and random ones in our collection. We've still got plenty of books, but probably parted with eighty or so in our sorting efforts - feels great to have all of our books displayed on a hallways bookshelf rather than hidden/stacked away in cupboards.
Last week I was asked by a lovely reader (hi Natalie) if I would be able to share some easy and budget friendly ideas to make and sell at a school fair. I've shared a few simple tutorials and ideas on the blog before, but they're a little bit scattered in the archives, so I thought I should put together a post that shares them all in one spot.
I live with my husband and 2 children in Tasmania, Australia. I love to make nice things, spend time with my family, travel, bake yummy treats, read pretty craft books, give handmade gifts, toast marshmallows in our wood fired oven & live a lovely life.
