Last week the lovely Ellen from Alexandra Mackenzie asked me if I'd like to have a play with some of her gorgeous crochet patterns and well, of course I said yes! For the long term readers here on the blog, you might remember that Ellen created those gorgeous crocheted hot water bottle covers for our caravan? She's pretty clever and has a delightful Etsy store full of yummy patterns.
I was busting to get started - go on and twist my arm with any new project!
Crocheted pot holders have been on my 'to do' list for a while now, but I've just never made the commitment to create one. I'm pretty happy that I decided to give this pattern a whirl though, it's turned out so super cute and I can't wait to make another one.
The pattern itself is lovely and straight forward (perfect for a beginner) and didn't take me that long to whip up at all. Since we've decided to keep our retro caravan, it seemed like the perfect project to spruce up the interior, and I love that it's double sided - super thick and lush.
The BEST bit about all of this is that if you feel like crocheting your own pot holder (or something else nice in Ellen's store) then I have a massive 25% off discount code for you. There are LOTS of lovely patterns in her store for all different kinds of crochet projects.
Here are the details:
- 25% discount off all patterns in store - shop HERE.
- Discount valid until 6th October 2013.
- The discount code is OCM25 - enter at checkout to obtain the discount.
So there you go - happy shopping & creating!
While we're talking crochet, I'm planning to host a fun cotton dishcloth swap here on the blog for October. I'm just working out all the details and hope to post about it soon - stay tuned!
