Lately it seems that I've been in the mood for preserving food, so I thought I'd share my little stash with you. Tayberry jam, old fashioned bread and butter pickles, apples (ready for apple pie or crumble), tomato relish and another batch of apple butter. Oh, and there are also a few bottles of untreated honey in the photo that I bought from a lovely elderly man last weekend that still keeps bees in his backyard.
These last few days have been busy here, nothing exciting - just lots of home chores and boring day to day stuff. We squeezed in a day trip and the little cousins are here for a sleep over as I type, planted some fruit trees, changed the lounge room around and have been cooking/dehydrating/preserving lots of things.
The handmade gift giving post is definitely coming, but in the meantime I found this photo of the coasters that I crocheted for my Mum to pop with her Christmas present. I know that I've talked about this coaster pattern before, but it's a real keeper and the colour combinations are endless.
I live with my husband and 2 children in Tasmania, Australia. I love to make nice things, spend time with my family, travel, bake yummy treats, read pretty craft books, give handmade gifts, toast marshmallows in our wood fired oven & live a lovely life.
