It's true, I'm still obsessed over this crochet hot pad pattern. This is about the fourth or fifth one that I've made and I still hope to whip up many more of them in the future.
Putting together a colour combination for the hot pad is probably my most favourite part of the project and I know I've mentioned it before, but they really are easy to make.
I crocheted this up a few weeks ago, but I forgot to share it. Once again, I used some lovely 10 ply cotton by Sugar 'n Cream - definitely my favourite cotton to use for these so far. I tried one in an 8 ply a little while ago, but it just didn't leave me feeling happy with the end result, so I un-pulled it. The 8 ply is just a little thin for my liking with this particular project.
This year I feel like I'm really utilising my spare night time hours to 'make' instead of procrastinate. A big part of this has been ensuring that my laptop remains closed after dinner and also keeping my fingers busy, even on those nights when I really can't be bothered doing anything. Now we're moving into the cooler months (hello autumn!), I'm confident that I can keep my crafting momentum going and many more projects will be turned over.
Who knows, I may even finish a few of my 'cupboard stashed' projects - wishful thinking is always good, right?!
