I've been making myself a breakfast smoothie every day for about a month now and am totally addicted. After a bit of fiddling with ingredients, I've found what I like to call my personal favourite - something that is filling, will fuel me to late morning and also tastes great. I thought I'd share the recipe with you and perhaps you might enjoy it too.
Breakfast smoothie ingredients:
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 teaspoons (rounded) acai powder
- 1 scoop protein powder - I use this one, but that's just my personal preference.
- 1 banana
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 orange
Place everything together in a blender (I use my Thermomix) and whizz until combined. This will make enough to fit a large glass - 1 serve. The smoothie colour is a bit, umm, brownish - but it tastes really nice!
