Lately I've been feeling a little bit crammed on our writing desk and decided it was time to plan a new creative space for myself. While the desk is perfect for letter writing and small crafts, I've been finding that I just don't have enough room when I want to create a bigger project, or work on my Project Life album. Mostly when this happens I take over the dining table, but then frustration sets in when dinner time rolls around and I need to pack up my creative mess so that we can eat and enjoy a meal together.
These last few days have been busy here, nothing exciting - just lots of home chores and boring day to day stuff. We squeezed in a day trip and the little cousins are here for a sleep over as I type, planted some fruit trees, changed the lounge room around and have been cooking/dehydrating/preserving lots of things.
How was your weekend? We had a pretty easy one here and spent our time doing a bit of housework, playing some board games, helping my father-in-law celebrate his birthday, baking a few bits and pieces and then realising that on Sunday it was only 4 months to go until Christmas. I know, I know, I really need to start getting myself organised with gifts and things.
I can happily report that our television free week was a complete success, with only a couple of small 'I'm bored' comments thrown in for good measure.
We filled in the week with lots of different things and I'm excited about the new direction that this has taken our family. Here's a list of our favourite things that we did during the week while the television was turned off:
I live with my husband and 2 children in Tasmania, Australia. I love to make nice things, spend time with my family, travel, bake yummy treats, read pretty craft books, give handmade gifts, toast marshmallows in our wood fired oven & live a lovely life.
